How we approach a new project.

Our blueprint for a successful project begins with an exchange of information designed to assess the entire scope and feasibility of your project from immediate schedule to final cost of production. Most assignments proceed according to a streamlined concurrent development model, with our cross-functional team integrating closely with your internal resources.

1. Product Definition

Set the vision, goals, and scope of the project, and establish realistic timetables.

2. Feasibility Study

Evaluate technology and market alternatives; develop detailed design program; set schedules, allocate resources, and approve a budget.

3. Hardware Software Development

First determine functional specifications, then the appropriate language; monitor progress with regularly-scheduled meetings.

4. Prototype Manufacture

Build a custom prototype to assure quality and full functionality; get field feedback and tweak product and/or process as necessary.

5. Documentation

Prepare drawings, source listings, pc design documentation, parts lists, schematics, software documentation and source listings, test procedures, installation procedures and user manuals.

6. Preliminary Production

Begin low volume manufacturing (usually in quantities of 100 units) to begin product flow and to finalize details of assembly and testing prior to mass production.

7. High Volume Production

Working to budget, drive outside manufacturers through this critical and difficult phase, including parts buying and substitution, QC, and production.

8. Technical Support

During the design and development of a project in the production cycle, a myriad of unexpected issues occur. Cape Digital has the experienced staff to provide on-going technical support for our clients. This support may be during regulatory support, in production testing and quality control, or in the cost reduction of products. Providing these support services are essential to a successful program and long term business relationships.
